Course Structure
The full three‑night workshop run by Adam Karnacz (aka First Man) is designed for a small group of six participants, giving you plenty of time to develop and refine your skills in a supportive, low‑pressure environment.
There are opportunities for photography from dusk until dawn and we will look to maximise our use of the light. For Dawn we will be in position to capture sunrise, weather permitting, before returning to the hotel for breakfast. Following breakfast we will head out again for the day until sunset before returning after dark for a well earned evening meal. This includes hiking up some of the lower fells (around 400-600m), weather and safety permitting, and walking approximately five to eight miles per day.
The nature of the Lake District, the mountains and the weather means we will remain flexible and discuss plans for each day the evening before.
After dinner we will retire to the lounge/bar where we can sit together, post-process our images and share stories of the day. This will be completely informal and voluntary but is a good chance for critique and to brush up on your editing skills. It is a fun, safe and supportive environment in which to share your work and is a good way to consolidate learning and carry it into the next day.
The tour is a fun, creative adventure that also offers a great chance to connect with like‑minded peers and make new friends.

Requirements
Photography Skills
Suitable for photographers of all levels with basic equipment (camera, lenses, tripod).
Physical Fitness
Important!!
A very good level of physical health, fitness, stability and agility will be required. We will be ascending hills and fells around 600m high and traversing uneven, rocky and/or muddy ground. We will be on our feet most of the day, carrying our equipment and hill walking experience is desirable. Please contact me if you are unsure if this course is suitable for you.

Location Information
The Lake District is undoubtedly one of the finest places to photograph in the UK, if not the world. We will be based at a four-star hotel and spa that sits just a short walk from an incredible sunrise and sunset location. Close to Keswick and Derwent Water we can easily reach many of the region’s most beloved sights – the crystal lakes, surrounding crags, an ancient stone circle, a quieter woodland, and the ever‑imposing silhouettes of the nearby mountains.
We will spend as much time as possible in the field photographing the varied landscapes the Lake District has to offer. Weather permitting, we’ll trek up some of the lower fells that give a range of viewpoints and picturesque scenes. A good level of fitness and agility will be required, but the rewards are spectacular: sweeping vistas and composition‑rich opportunities in all directions.
Getting up high and off the beaten track allows us to truly immerse ourselves and gain a deeper understanding of the landscape. That feeling can then be translated into your photographs, helping you tell the story of this ancient terrain with authenticity and depth.

Payment Terms
To secure a place, a non‑refundable deposit of £300 is required, with the remaining balance due four weeks prior to the commencement of the course.
